Christian Heretic: The Archbishop Coat of Arms

The Archbishop’s coat of arms joins together the diocesan arms and his personal arms, as is tradition. Bishop Eric Michel opted to use symbols of his life, French heritage and Franciscan-Thomas ministries.

The shield means protection against evils and falsities, in that as regards the Lord it signifies protection, and as regards man, trust in the Lord’s protection.

Red the representation for courage and compassion, also associated with life, vitality, passion, and firered is also a symbol of power and prestige has it is the colour of the Romain Catholic Cardinals and EMMI Archbishop.

Yellow is a symbolic color that brings joy and delight, It is claimed that Judas Iskariot wore yellow at the last supper. Yellow, is associated with positive thinking.

Gold is symbolic of flexibility on our spiritual path while life experience galvanizes our faith, gold represents perfection in all matter. It also symbolizes humankind’s quest to perfect, illuminate and refine his/herself, gold is a symbol of immutability, eternity and perfection.

Heart, the emblem of love and devotion, it is an ideograph used to express the idea of the “heart” in its symbolic sense as the center of emotion, including affection and love. Used for:” Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength”. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12: 30-31.

Fleur de Lis, said to represent the Christian Trinity, it is a representation of the lily flower, associated with the French royalty and it is perceived to be a symbol of nobility of perfection it represent Eric Michel origin in French Quebec. Also signifies life, enlightenment, and excellence.
