What bothers me the most is seeing YouTube video with titles like:
- Catholic Teachings: Not in the Bible?
- Are Catholics Christians?
- Reason Catholics are Not Christians
- I’m NOT Christian; I’m Catholic
- Christ Founded the Catholic Church
Hum, let’s verify the history; in the whole world, the only Christian in existence from day one are the Catholics, including all Orthodox churches, but from the earliest recorded evidence of the use of the term “Catholic Church” is the Letter to the Smyrnaeans that Ignatius of Antioch wrote in about 107 to Christians in Smyrna. Exhorting Christians to remain closely united with their bishop, he wrote: “Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude [of the people] also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church.”
The Catholic church invented Christianity; everything you use in your church or home, including the most important book, the “Christian Bible” is Catholic; they choose the texts inserted. And all Christians are Catholic until the reformation which is usually considered to have started with the publication of the Ninety-five Theses by Martin Luther in 1517; there was no schism between the Catholic Church and the nascent Luther until 1521 at the Edict of Worms.
Catholicism is a denomination in the Christian Faith, I do not agree to the Catholic dogmas or rituals, but it has lots of their practices, liturgies and sacraments that I use in my own ministries.
